The influence of an ancient architectural forms from around the residence area is fully evident, although the structure of Mestia airport is intentionally minimalistic, in order to keep the focus on its functionality. The interior is also designed with an user friendliness in mind.

The building carries historic significance for the area, as it introduces contemporary architecture to it and creates a shortcut to the rest of the country.

Architect's note:

'This was the fastest paced construction process I have personally been involved in a. The possibility of a nonstandard project being accomplished in such a short period of time, materialized in front of me and gave me the boost to thrive for my own architectural visions to come to life'.
