ORDER AND CHAOS emerged from an observation made throughout years of architectural practice. While studying projects, references, and cities, a recurring pattern became apparent: some buildings are designed to remain in the background, creating order, calmness, and continuity, while others are conceived as distinct objects that challenge conventions and define identity.
This distinction gradually became visible within the studio's own work. Projects developed under STIPFOLD increasingly pursued experimentation, expression, and iconic architectural gestures, while another direction was emerging around restraint, simplicity, and timelessness.
Presented at Home & Business in December 2025, the lecture explored this relationship between order and chaos through personal experiences, built projects, and the evolution of the studio's design philosophy. The presentation ultimately became the public introduction of the thinking that later defined STIPFOLD and STENSE as two independent yet complementary design directions.
The event brought together professionals from architecture, design, real estate, and business, creating a platform for discussing authorship, identity, and the role of architecture in shaping both everyday environments and cultural landmarks.
