yelo
Brief
YELO is a compact duplex penthouse in Batumi, shaped by a single priority: the view.
Facing the sea, the apartment opens toward the horizon, where the sunsets became the driving force behind the concept. The space was kept minimal and quiet to let that view take over.
Two materials define the interior — raw concrete and dark wood. The concrete forms the outer shell, while the wooden elements are inserted like a second layer. This interplay defines the kitchen, the staircase, and built-in furniture — each element carefully placed to feel integrated, not added.
The yellow sofa stands as the only bold accent, drawn from the tones often seen through the window. A custom audio piece above the TV picks up the same color, adding a subtle pulse to the calm setting.
What made the project most exciting was the challenge of turning a small space into something open and powerful — without ever distracting from the sea. Every decision, from the low bedroom railing to the hidden wardrobe, was made to keep the focus where it belongs: outside.
YELO isn’t built to impress with scale or complexity. It’s a study in clarity — where everything holds back, so the view can lead.
