A gravity-free digital museum conceived as a travelling vessel, transforming Borjomi’s history, landscape, and identity into an immersive spatial experience.

Borjomi Digital Museum was conceived by STIPFOLD as the digital counterpart of a future physical museum planned for a historic building in Borjomi Central Park.
Rather than reproducing the limitations of the existing building online, the studio proposed a different question: if a museum exists digitally, why should it remain constrained by gravity, structure, or a fixed location?
The resulting concept transformed the museum into a travelling vessel. Positioned above the forests and mountains of Borjomi, the object was imagined as a spacecraft capable of moving through time and appearing in different locations. The original museum building was placed inside this new digital architecture, connecting the project’s historical foundation with a speculative future.
The museum was designed as a transparent, panoramic environment with uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors could move through the space in 360 degrees, explore archival material, and encounter the history and mythology of Borjomi through a spatial rather than purely informational experience.
Although the environment was digital, selected familiar objects were introduced to preserve a sense of reality and scale. A chair, for example, had no practical function in the virtual museum, but gave visitors an immediate understanding of proportion and human presence. At the centre of the space, Borjomi’s symbolic deer appeared as an animated element, linking the experience to the brand’s visual history and natural origins.
The project was conceived and designed by STIPFOLD, while Leavingstone developed the wider Borjomi campaign and digital platform. Together, the collaboration translated one of Georgia’s oldest and most internationally recognised brands into an immersive experience that connected heritage, landscape, storytelling, and speculative architecture.
Borjomi Digital Museum became an opportunity for STIPFOLD to explore architecture beyond physical construction. Instead of designing a building limited to one site and one period, the studio created a museum capable of travelling through landscapes, histories, and future chapters.
